👾 A Poem for the History of Video Games 🎮

🕹️ In the seventies, you were born

With Pong, Space Invaders, and Atari

You made us play with joy and wonder

You were simple, but you were fun 🚀

🎮 In the eighties, you grew up

With Mario, Zelda, and Pac-Man

You made us explore and adventure

You were colorful, but you were hard 🍄

🌟 In the nineties, you shone

With Sonic, Street Fighter, and Doom

You made us run and fight

You were fast, but you were violent 🔫

🌎 In the two thousands, you expanded

With Pokemon, GTA, and The Sims

You made us collect and create

You were diverse, but you were controversial 🚗

🏆 In the twenty tens, you dominated

With Minecraft, Fortnite, and Skyrim

You made us build and cooperate

You were massive, but you were addictive ⛏️

🌈 In the twenty twenties, you diversified

With Animal Crossing, Among Us, and Cyberpunk

You made us socialize and escape

You were cute, but you were buggy 🐻

👏 You have entertained us, challenged us, inspired us

You have made us laugh, cry, rage, and rejoice

You have brought us together, connected us, united us

You have given us choices, voices, and stories 🗣️

🙌 This is a poem for the history of video games

A tribute, a celebration, a gratitude

This is a poem for you, dear video games

A love letter, a fan letter, a thank you 🙏
