Today we mourn the loss of Akira Toriyama, the legendary manga artist and creator of Dragon Ball. He was born on April 5, 1955, in Nagoya, Japan, and began drawing at a very young age. He achieved fame and success with his comedy series Dr. Slump, and then surpassed all expectations with his epic fantasy-adventure series Dragon Ball, which became one of the most popular and influential manga and anime franchises of all time. He also worked as a character designer for several video games, such as Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon. He was a master of storytelling, humor, and action, and inspired generations of fans and artists around the world. He passed away on March 1, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable characters and stories.
